BEG - Individual Measures
Supports the energy-efficient modernization of residential and non-residential buildings through targeted renovation of individual components or systems. Funding is provided as a direct cash grant – offered by BAFA or KfW – reimbursing part of the costs directly. Learn more about eligible measures (e.g., insulation, new windows, modern heating technology) and consider the funding requirements early in your planning process.
BEG - Systemic Renovation Masures
Supports comprehensive renovation concepts for residential and non-residential buildings to achieve “Efficiency House” standards through holistic energy upgrades. Funding is provided as a loan with repayment grants – offered by the KfW. Learn more about eligible measures (e.g., complete building renovation, efficient heating systems, insulation, ventilation) and check funding requirements and application deadlines early in your planning process.
BEG - New
Construction
Supports energy-efficient new builds of residential and non-residential buildings through KfW loan financing. It combines modern construction methods and energy standards in low-interest loans for new construction projects, making them more climate-friendly and energy-efficient. Gather information early on about funding rates, application deadlines, and areas of application to ensure future-proof construction planning with optimal financing.
The 3 key benefits of the BEG for your project
The BMWK is intensifying its efforts to promote investments to increase energy and resource efficiency in Germany. Companies can benefit from subsidies of up to 50% for investments to reduce CO₂ emissions.
General information

Application before the start of the project
What is being funded?
Individual measures on the building envelope (15%)
(Insulation of exterior walls/roof, replacement of windows, etc.)
Heating optimization
(hydraulic balancing, insulation of pipes, etc.)
Heat generation plants
(Heat pumps, biomass heating, fuel cells, etc.)
Plant engineering
(Installation/replacement of air conditioning systems, efficient
lighting systems, etc.)
Complete renovation
Cost Estimate: Building 1 (anonymized client example)
Total costs: €2,399,119
Estimated eligible costs: €1,500,000
Calculation: Assumption achievement of Efficiency House 55
Efficiency House 55: €1,500,000 * 15% = €225,000
Note:
Profitability calculation: How many additional costs arise in the case of an energy-efficient renovation
Example:
Energy-efficient renovation with total costs of €3,000,000 leads to an Efficiency House 55 and thus to a repayment grant of €450,000 (15%)
ROI:
€3,000,000 – €450,000 = €2,550,000 (without considering financing costs)
Individual measures
Cost Estimate: Building 2 (anonymized client example)
Skylight: €17,500
Floor: €17,267
Calculation: 15% of the eligible costs
€17,500 * 15% = €2,625
€17,267 * 15% = €2,590
Note:
Roofer without roof insulation: building costs €150,000
Profitability calculation:
Determination of which costs can be subsidized through an energy-efficient renovation (skylight) (ROI)
Example:
Energy-efficient roof renovation with costs of €175,000 would result in a subsidy of €26,250
ROI:
€175,000 – €26,250 = €148,750
